The ABP Southampton Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 22 and features a 10k, half marathon and children’s mile fun run as well as a full marathon.

This year’s event will feature some returning favourites as well as some new additions to the route. Among the new landscapes runners will get to take in is Weston Shore and historic Bugle Street.

Runners for the full and half marathons will get to run past the Tudor House and Gardens at the start of the race. Then, following the iconic Itchen Bridge, the route will go into Woolston and along Weston Shore, giving runners a unique view of Southampton Water and the Solent.

Saints fans will be happy as a run through St Mary’s Stadium makes an appearance yet again in 2018. Runners will then head over Northam Bridge and into Riverside Park before making their way to Southampton Common and coming into the city centre parks for the big finish in Guildhall Square.

Those taking part in the 10k will enjoy much of the same route although they will run alongside, rather than through, the stadium.

Participants in the Full Marathon will enjoy twice the fun as they tackle the two-lapped route that allows twice the opportunity to take in the River Itchen, sea, coastal, parkland and city course.

Last year a huge 10,000 runners signed up and people have until March 15 to get their entries in for this year’s event.
