Bus company First has revealed changes to its service 7 from February 26, involving a change of direction around the route’s loop in Midanbury and Towhnill Park.

First confirms on its website  “the route for service 7 in Midanbury and Townhill will be amended. It will now operate in an anticlockwise loop around Midanbury and Townhill. This means the outbound bus will run from Bitterne Triangle to The Hop Inn, then right into Woodmill Lane, then travel via Witts Hill and Mousehole Lane, returning as the inbound service via Townhill Way, Meggeson Avenue, Forest Hills Drive and Woodmill Lane before turning back at The Hop Inn.”

First advises passengers in Midabury and Townhill to use the bus stops on the opposite site of the road.

According to Southampton Bus Update blog, the service 7 terminus loop changes “could backfire as those who forget to use the stops on the other side of the road can still get Bluestar 16 into town from the stops the 7 uses currently.”
