frogs copseIf your New Year's resolution is to get outside more, or get more involved in your local community, then you may like to pitch in and help with some environmental work.

Community organisation SO18 Big Local is working with Pippa, a community gardener, and a council ecologist, to organise some environmental maintenance work this January, and more projects are on the cards for February and March.

This month, SO18 Big Local will be out and about on Monday mornings as follows:

Monday 15th January 2018
Blackthorn maintenance - green space at Roundhill Close/Middleton Close (SO18 2FP)

Monday 22nd January
Coppicing - Frogs Copse (meet by the playground off Marlhill Close, SO18 2GE)

Monday 29th January
Dead hedging - Cutbush Hidden Pond (off Hillgrove Road, SO18 2HF)

Gloves & tools will be available but you are welcome to bring your own, but be aware that work will be among thorns at some sites, so appropriate dress is encouraged.

For more information and/or to be added to a mailing list about future projects, contact Pippa on 07377 784609 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
