kids 460 pixabaySouthampton City Council is offering one-off grants of around £1,600 to attract new foster carers and help reward those already fostering.

The grant will be paid to new foster carers who register and become accepted by March 31 2018, and have had a foster placement for at least six months.

Councillor Paul Lewzey, cabinet member for Children’s Social Care, said “We’re well aware of the important role our foster carers play in looking after some of Southampton’s most vulnerable children. We hope this grant will persuade new fosters carers to come forward. The grant will also help complement the generous allowance that is paid to fund all placements alongside the 24-hour support and ongoing training our current carers receive.”

For details, contact information, and terms of the offer, see this council web page.
