Krista Campell took over the pub in August on behalf of a third party company. Owners Enterprise Inns had been advertising for new operators since April, when the previous publicans left – and the pub is still listed on the Enterprise website.

According to a statement on the Bitterne Park Hotel’s Facebook page (Oct 27), negotiations are ongoing with Enterprise to try to keep the pub open.

It says:

“ ...the company I was hired by have pulled out of the contract with enterprise, I am currently in negotiations with enterprise to keep it open .

However if that fails then we will be closing on Monday 31st October .

We have had a great time whilst it has lasted even if it was only for a short time and enjoyed meeting all the regulars of the bp who have all become friends of mine and danny's and I'm sorry we're closing .

Hope you all had a good time with us and hopefully see you all again in the future."
