Roadworks coming up around Bitterne Park in August

bollardUPDATED Here's a summary of some scheduled roadworks coming up in and around the area in August that may cause delays or require choosing alternative routes, includng closures for Bitterne Road West and Portswood Road.

Bitterne Road West is scheduled to close for resurfacing work from August 1 – 11 from 20.00 to 06.00 from Rampart Road to Bullar Road. Information on First Bus diversions are here, and BlueStar diversions here .

Delays are also possible from July 29 – August 2 near 231 Manor Farm Road in Bitterne Park as Southern Water deal with a leak.

Southern Water are expected to be working in Macnaghten Road from August 3 – 4, with “delays possible”.

And in Woodmill Lane Southern Water are due to work between Dell Road and Cornwall Road, with delays possible, between August 3 and 5.

Glenfield Crescent is expected to close from August 1 – 15 for “structural patching” work.

Temporary traffic lights are expected in Athelstan Road between Garfield Road and Cross Road from July 18 – August 12.

Roadworks continue between Kent and Aberdeen Roads on St Denys Road for electrical work until August 26, with further work by Southern Water expected on August 3 and 4 on St Denys Road near St Denys Primary School.

 

Roadworks are scheduled between Mayfield Road and Harrison Road in Swaythling, by the old B&Q site, which will see the Portswood Road closed from August 1 – 5 for various work during the period. Click here to see Bluestar bus diversions and here for UniLink.

Update: Southampton Travel have tweeted on August 5: "Portswood Road, between Mayfield & Harrison Road, closure extended for 1 week due to engineering difficulties. sorry for the inconvenience"

 

Delays are possible as Virgin Media work in Portswood Road on the high street near New Look from August 1 – 3; there could also be delays heading towards Swaythling just before Arnold Road from August 12 – 18.
