Bus operator Bluestar is introducing changes to its services in and around Southampton, including on its 16 route which links Townhill Park and Bitterne Park with the city centre.
“We have listened carefully and are proposing to introduce changes to Bluestar 1, 2, 16, and 18 services,” said Bluestar operations manager Paul Coyne.
Changes are due to come into effect on February 22.
Of particular interest to those in Bitterne Park and Portswood will be changes to the Bluestar 16 service, which links the city centre with Portswood, Bitterne Park Triangle, Midanbury and Townhill Park, and Bluestar 2 service, which links Southampton, Portswood, Swaythling, Eastleigh, Bishopstoke and Fair Oak.
The company says: “The 7.33am Bluestar 16 service from Witts Hill is now re-routed - via Litchfield Road, Cromwell Road, Wakefield Road - to Meggeson Avenue to match the 7.47am service. The 5.53pm from Midanbury leaves earlier at 5.43pm for an improved journey time during the rush hour.”
Regarding its Bluestar 2 service, the company says: “Sunday timetables have been altered to improve reliability. Peak Monday to Saturday times have also been adjusted.”
