Flybe continues expansion with new routes
Flybe has announced two new routes, to Galway and Nice, bringing the total number flights it offers from Southampton to 34.
Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybe commented: “As the number one carrier at Southampton airport, this is an important new announcement as we continue to demonstrate our expansion policy. Our expansion shows us responding to customer demand for low-cost air travel, providing exceptional service all at the best value.
“These new routes continue to offer choice to customers, bringing exciting destinations directly to people’s doorsteps whilst promoting the growth of regional air travel across the UK.”
Meanwhile Airport Consultative Committee member for Bitterne Park Residents' Association, Mary Finch, urged local residents to “keep up the noise about airport expansion” by lobbying councillors, MPs, airlines, planners and BAA, when she spoke at the Association's AGM on September 20.
Friends of the Earth Southampton and Eastleigh are hosting a Climate Change Public Meeting.
“Is the Government doing enough about Climate Change?”
Thursday 19th October 7:30 pm
University of Southampton Bolderwood Campus (Building 62) Lecture theatre 3.
