A landlord of the planned new ‘Butcher’s Hook’ micro pub at the Triangle – which now has its licence – says lease details are currently being sorted out for the former Tiger Lily florist premises.
As previously reported, micro pubs “use vacant local retail spaces to create a vibrant social hub for the community whilst helping to bring extra trade to the surrounding businesses".
The other plus point for some punters will be the absence of music, TVs or fruit machines: rather, micro pubs tend to celebrate the “gentle hubbub of conversation. It's a place to meet and chat over a quite pint with friends or talk to strangers who quickly become friends”.
Anthony Nicholls said once the contract is signed and sealed and they have access to the property, they could have the Butcher’s Hook Ale House up and running within a couple of months.
The pub name salutes the shop’s origins: the features of a traditional butcher’s are still to be found inside the Manor Farm premises.
There appears to be a significant interest in the idea among bitternepark.info readers: our previous articles on The Butcher's Hook have attracted a large number of hits and social media shares.
