nhs 65th group at bargate l weedyShoppers and residents paused at noon on Friday at the Bargate to wish the NHS a 'happy 65th birthday'. 'Read more' to hear our interviews with Ian Woodland and Alan Whitehead MP.

We spoke to Ian Woodland, regional officer for the Unite union (fourth from left), and Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test (centre with sign) [in that order], to find out more about the reasons behind the celebration, and why they think the service needs safeguarding for the future.
