Barton Peveril Sixth Form College in Eastleigh reports it was inspected over four days through lesson and departmental observations, conversations with students and discussions with staff and has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating.
Barton Peveril principal Rob Temple said: “I am delighted that the College has been recognised as Outstanding across all four key judgements. It's a wonderful endorsement of the extraordinary efforts and skill of our teachers and support staff, and of how the students have responded to the high expectations we have of them.”
The college offers A Level and vocational courses to more than 4400 full-time students aged 16-19 drawn from a wide area of south-central Hampshire including Eastleigh, Fareham, Romsey, Southampton and Winchester.
The inspection decision and report hadn’t yet been published on Ofsted’s website at the time of writing. In April 2016 the college was rated ‘Good’.
