Bond Road resident Kailea Hurcombe said the family’s cat Murray, pictured previously, has bald patches where he’s apparently been trimmed by someone with clippers.

“Have you heard of any other cats having this done?” she asked. “He is not hurt but he has bald patches where it has been done.”

She said CCTV revealed it happened late last week.

“His hind legs look like someone tried to groom him. He must have escaped before they got any further.”

She added: “Going to take the cat to the vet [in] the week for a once over as feel hugely uneasy about someone interfering with our pet!!!!”.

While Kailea said she thought Murray could possibly have been clipped by a ‘good samaritan’ trying to help the animal in some way, she didn’t understand why in that case he hadn’t been taken to a vet to get his microchip read so the owners could be contacted.
