The Southampton branch of Back Care is seeking new members who may benefit from hydrotherapy, Tai Chi classes, and being part of a support network of fellow sufferers.

The self-supporting charity offers hydrotherapy sessions at Southampton General Hospital on Monday and Thursday evenings. Hydrotherapy is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment, involving the use of water for soothing pains. The fee is Ł5 per hour, which goes towards pool hire and the time of fully qualified physiotherapists

The Association is also organising Tai Chi classes, due to start in the spring, at Swaythling Community Centre.

Perhaps most importantly, membership means joining a support and social network, which holds regular get-togethers and organises guest speakers.

Membership is just Ł5 per year.

For further information, please contact Southampton Back Care Hon Secretary Sylvia Percy on 023 8049 5642, or Catriona Ratcliff on 023 8055 9605.
