Bitterne Park Triangle’s proposed conservation area will now not go ahead.
The idea behind the plan was to protect existing buildings, restrict future development and enhance the street scene.
But although the consultation process was open to all, it’s thought that
somewhere in the region of 90% of those living or working within the
proposed conservation area itself objected to the idea. This effectively
scuppers the plan.
For more background about the plan click here. There was also a piece about the idea on the St Denys Community
Radio podcast.
