Conservation plan scuppered PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 27 July 2010
Bitterne Park Triangle’s proposed conservation area will now not go ahead.

The idea behind the plan was to protect existing buildings, restrict future development and enhance the street scene.

But although the consultation process was open to all, it’s thought that somewhere in the region of 90% of those living or working within the proposed conservation area itself objected to the idea. This effectively scuppers the plan.

For more background about the plan click here. There was also a piece about the idea on
the St Denys Community Radio podcast.

Has there been an announcement?

Can you let us know where the decision is announced? I can only find the consultation on the Council web site. It still says "A decision is pending".

No announcement yet as far as we know. This information was gleaned by telephoning the council.
